Drake L4-B with power supply: The Museum of Radio and Technology in Huntington, West Virginia is offering for sale this Drake L4-B amplifier with power supply. This HF amplifier is not without issues however, specifically with the power supply. The high voltage is approximately half of what it should be. We verified this by swapping the power supply with another one that we have.
The filter capacitors in the power supply appear to be original so we suspect them to be the culprit. Otherwise the L4-B appears to work. Putting out 600 watts in tune mode on 40 meters using the defective power supply. The amplifier tuned up easily even with the low high voltage reading on the the meter.
We are asking $890.00 for the amplifier as is. The asking price does not include shipping. Pickup at the museum is preferred. Shipping would be at the buyers expense and would only be to the contiguous 48 states in the US. Wanted any DOCs on Harris RF PA: Long SHOT...
Received from a colleague and this is a HARRIS RF PA final deck.
Uses 4 TRW / Motorola PT9790 Bipolar and should be capable of
400 watts. Push Pull and power combined as seen in the photo.
Like to restore and looking for any docs, perhaps there is an ex-Harris

AMERITRON ALS 600 SOLID S AS NEW..TRADE?: Hi, I have an Ameritron ALS 600 solid state HF amplifier.
I got it from an older ham that had purchased it new as a backup for his Alpha.
That day didn't come. So the amp and the power supply was put on the shelf. I got it and it truly is like brand new with no signs of use. This amp is no tune, you select the band you want and go.. Also, it has your back if you accidentally use too much exciter drive, or your swr is too high, it protects itself and in seconds with a flick of a switch your back on the air.. The amp comes in two units, the amp and the power supply.. This amp surpassed my expectations in operation and build quality as it really works very well.. No front panel peeling the cabinet is mint.. I am very meticulous about my equipment and keep it covered when not in use.
